shikha | Re: Is NATA Difficult I would like to tell you that if your drawing skills are perfect and basics are strong then National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is not much difficult and here I will get details of exam. Syllabus Drawing Test This is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions. The drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects- Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner. Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings. Sense of perspective drawing Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form. Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms. Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition. Understanding of scale and proportions. Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test This is computer based test where candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions. The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness and comprises of - Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings. Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects. Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities. Analytical reasoning. Mental Ability. Imaginative comprehension and expression. Architectural awareness. Eligibility The candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks to appear for NATA. NATA exam is conducted for 1st year admission to the B.Arch degree courses across various Architecture schools in India. The candidates must have Mathematics in his/her class 12th to appear for the exam Exam Pattern The NAT exam will consist of two parts, i.e. part 1 will have paper based drawing test and part 2 will have computer based test. The paper 1 will be of two hours and in that candidates are required to answer 2 questions. In paper 2 the candidates have to answer 40 questions in total. |
