Semester I

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the richness of Elizabethan drama, especially Shakespeare and his contemporaries. This course includes different types of Shakespearean plays with a view to bringing out the richness of the Shakespearean text. Students will be expected to read as many plays of Shakespeare as possible to ripen their appreciation of the contemporary relevance of Shakespeare. Texts Prescribed:
