shikha | Re: Respiratory Therapy NBRC Test Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential measure essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required of advanced respiratory therapists, and to set uniform standards for measuring such knowledge. The Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination consists of 160 multiple-choice questions (140 scored items and 20 pretest items) distributed among three major content areas: Patient Data Evaluation and Recommendations, Troubleshooting and Quality Control of Equipment and Infection Control, and Initiation and Modification of Interventions. Therapist Multiple-Choice candidates will be given three hours to complete the examination. The Clinical Simulation Examination consists of 22 problems (20 scored items and 2 pretest items). Candidates will be given four hours to complete the CSE. Eligibility Three-Year Time Limit- Graduates of accredited advanced-level education programs will have three years after graduation to earn the RRT credential. Individuals who do not earn the RRT credential within this time limit will be required to retake and pass the Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination at the CRT cut score to regain eligibility NBRC staff is available to answer any other additional questions via phone or email.
