NIT Trichy

The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli or NIT Trichy is a public research university which was founded in 1964bas the Regional Engineering College Tiruchirapalli under the affiliation of University of Madras. It became independent in 2003 and has acquired the deemed university status.

It was ranked as the 16th best Engineering College of India in the Edu-Rand Rankings of 2015. The survey was done jointly by Edu, an Indian company and Rand Corporation, a non-profit American thinktank.

It has also been ranked as the 8th best Engineering college of India in the Outlook engineering rankings 2016. It was ranked 1st by the Times of India NIT rankings 2015.

It was ranked 1806 in the world by Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. It is ranked 12 in National Institutional Ranking Framework published by Ministry of Human Resource Development in April 2016.

BITS Goa

Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani - K.K.Birla Goa Campus is a premier technical and science institute for higher education in India. It was founded in 2004.

It is one of four campuses of the university BITS Pilani. As a branch of BITS Pilani, Birla Institute follows the curriculum, teaching methodology, and educational practices of BITS Pilani, including the Practice school system. The Aditya Birla Group privately supports the residential features of the institute.


A 2008 study by the Indian Semiconductor Association (ISA) found that BITS Pilani, IISc and the top five IITs accounted for 70–75% of Indian semiconductor research.

BITS Pilani ranked in the top 5 from 1997 to 2004. In 2009, BITS Pilani was ranked fifth-top engineering college in India in 2012.

The Government of India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rated BITS a five-star institution for the period ending 7 February 2007.

BITS Pilani has been accredited by the NAAC with a CGPA of 3.71 (out of 4.0) with an A grade for the period 1 April 2007 to 8 March 2009. This grade is valid until 2014.
