National School of Drama is a theatre training institute situated at New Delhi, India. It is an autonomous organization under Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Minimum Educational Qualification

Aspirants should be graduated from a recognized university.
They must hold proficiency in mother tongue and sound knowledge of Hindi and English.
Aspirants should have participated in at minimum six theatre productions or its equivalent.

Category of Candidates

Male as well as female aspirants having above mentioned qualification are eligible to apply.

Age Criteria

Candidates’ age should be in between 20 to 30 years.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category may get age relaxation of maximum five years.

NSD (National School of Drama) Selection Procedure

These are the following stages of selection procedure:

First stagecontains audition or practical test which will be conducted at New Delhi and most probably Bengaluru, Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai.

Thereafter, candidates will be called at New Delhi for a four to five-day workshop.

Based on their performance in the workshop they will be called for final round of selection i.e. interview. Accommodation and paid TA/DA from candidate’s hometown to Delhi will be provided by the school.
