I recently opened an account in the IDBI Bank and came to know about the Online Shopping password (OSP). Will you tell what is Online Shopping password (OSP) in IDBI bank and for what it was used for also tell how can I generate the OSP IDBI along with its validity?

IDBI Bank was established in 1964 by an Act of Parliament to provide credit and other financial facilities for the development of the fledgling Indian industry

Online Shopping password (OSP) is an additional step of authentication to secure and protect your e-commerce transactions initiated from external merchant websites.

It is a six-digit number which will be sent to your mobile number by way of a SMS.

This number is confidential and should not be disclosed or shared with anyone even if the person claims to be an IDBI Bank official.

Generate OSP IDBI

Login to your Net Banking account and click on Generate OSP for E-comm Txn option available on the Home page as well as under 'Requests' menu, followed by entering your transaction password

Send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 5676777 with the following keyword:- GENOSP<space>Cust ID.

OSP validity:

The OSP generated on a particular day will be valid for 30 minutes. Yes, the OSP can be used any number of times for multiple e-commerce transactions within the validity period.
