Re: Pef mbp
The PEF Membership Benefits Program (MBP) mission is to serve active, dues-paying PEF members in a PS&T represented position and PEF retirees, with a wide variety of state wide and regional benefits and discount programs. The Membership Benefits Program is a Trust and a separate entity from the Public Employees Federation (PEF). The MBP Trust is governed by a Board of 5 Trustees. The MBP Trustees appoint an administrator of the Trust who oversees the daily operations. PEF Associate Membership Benefits PEF members who have left NYS employment are eligible to become Associate Members in PEF for $30 per year. It has organized its benefits according to the following: 1) Benefits that will be in transition and require action, should one wish to continue them. 2) Benefits that will remain the same (and one may continue, as an Associate Member, after this benefits extension ends). 3) Benefits one is no longer eligible to receive. Eligible, Action Required If one was enrolled in any of the following insurance benefits (listed below) at the time one left state employment, one may be eligible to continue coverage. 1) One may continue ones coverage at the same cost as an active member. 2) One may pay for coverage via direct debit or direct bill to ones home address (versus payroll deductions). A letter designed to confirm ones desire to continue ones coverage, will be mailed to ones home once one is no longer on NYS payroll.
