Re: PMP Vs MBA
It's not a question of better as much as it is which will lead you to your overall career goals and objectives. Project Management is always something you can supplement your existing degree with. It is a very good field for those who develop a passion for project management.PMP is something required right now from most entry level PM jobs. Both MBA and PMP require general management skills and interpersonal skills. Neither an MBA degree nor a PMP credential are required for success and growth in IT management, although one or the other (or both) certainly provides more opportunities and more knowledge to better perform your the job at hand. In a choice between PMP and MBA, I would recommend going for the MBA, but again that depends on the person. The MBA will shape thinking in a broader and more valuable way for the long run. Earning the certification can help in the short term to establish or anchor a career. |
