Can you provide me the general guidelines for admission in PG Course – MA Ist semester – in Panjab University? Also provide me PG admission important dates 2016?

The admission is made strictly in order of merit. For admission to M.A.-Ist semester if the College/Departments decide to hold Entrance Tests at their level, the following procedure will be followed besides the rules/Regulations of Panjab University governing eligibility, in a particular subject.

(i) ACADEMIC WEIGHTAGE: - 60%
(a) 10th class : 10%
(b) +2 class : 10%
(c) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. : 25%
(d) B.A. (Hons.)/B.Sc. (Hons.)/B.Com. (Hons.) : 15%

(ii) WRITTEN AND ORAL/APTITUDE TEST:- 40%
Written Test of one hour duration : 25%
Aptitude Test (Wherever Applicable)
In the concerned subject based on the
Syllabus of Bachelor level of Panjab University


ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR M.A. -I (Semester System):-
The Semester System be implemented in all the courses at Postgraduate level in the
University and affiliated Colleges w.e.f. 2011-12 (Amended Syndicate Para 35 dated 30.4.2011).

05-07-2016 (Tuesday) upto 4:00 p.m

Last date for submission of hard copy of the application form along with the requisite documents (mentioned on the application form print-out) to the respective departments (Including 06-07-2016)
07-07-2016 (Thursday) upto 4:00 p.m
