ABB currently have an exciting opportunity within our Power Systems division of the company being responsible for the engineering Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) solutions for the Control & Communications Systems related projects within HV / LV electrical substations.

Tasks And Responsibilities :

To successfully design, engineer and document RTU projects (primarily IEC61850), from conceptual design to final build status, against client specifications and in compliance with the Local Business Unit work instructions and engineering
processes

To setup integration and testing platforms and to perform Factory Acceptance Testing in conjunction with clients in order to achieve successful project delivery and close out

To work closely with and provide progress information to Project Managers, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones

To actively participate in both design review and lessons learnt processes

To play an integral part in the teams overall success and development of work processes

To provide technical support for PSAC RTU products within the target delivery markets

Occasional site work required, supporting project commissioning teams as necessary, throughout UK

Requirements
Essential
Preferred Control Systems / Power Systems engineering related education or equivalent (HNC minimum qualification)
Strong design capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Control Systems / Power System
Strong coordination skills
High Technical experience required
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external teams and customers

Desirable
Experience of ABB RTU560 hardware and software
Experience of ABB MicroSCADA
Experience of IEC61850 system design and configuration
Programming skills (VBA, SCIL, etc)
Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry
Proven Teamwork and Collaboration skills
