The whole recruitment of SBI PO is divided into three phases and they are prelims, mains and group discussion cum personal interview. Prelims is a qualifying exam, mains and interview marks make up the final merit list of candidates to be appointed in the bank. The GD/PI consists of 50 marks out of which 20 marks is allotted to GD and 30 for the interview. Group Discussion and Personal Interview is the last stage of recruitment The GD forum includes 10-12 candidates and they are seated around a centre table at equal distance. Group Discussion - There will be 3 4 Jury members who will conduct the GD. In a Group Discussion, a team of 10-12 member is formed. The jury members can ask questions whenever they feel like. Maximum 2 minutes are allotted to each candidate in order to express their views. Pen and papers are usually allowed to note down important points. You can express your views either in Hindi or English. How to Appear in Group Discussion & PI? Dress up elegantly Know your topic well. Present your point of view in a logical manner. Be interested in understanding what others feel about the same topic Conduct yourself with grace and confidence. SBI PO GD PI Preparation Be well read. Follow the newspapers, read news related to Indias advancements, any new political or economical happening, any fiscal change that has been brought about by the Indian Government and has a direct influence on the banking sector. Being not only informed, but well informed will make it easy for you to speak up your mind amongst the people who are experts (panel) and the people who are going to compete with you (other candidates). The topic allotted for GD need not be related to banking. It can be any random topic such as India lagging behind in sports, Should voting be made compulsory etc. But your interview will surely comprise of some questions related to banking and economy. |
