I want to do engineering and for this planning to give the JEE Main exam want details related to Separate Rank Lists Of JEE Main Exam. Can you provide details related to this is there any specific formula available also provide list of states in which JEE main score is accepted?

JEE Main exam is a national level examination which is conducted by CBSE. The exam is held for admission in undergraduate engineering courses in IITs, NITs and IIITs.

About separate rank list:

On the basis of score in JEE Main and normalized score of class 12th marks or equivalent qualifying exam (60% & 40% weightage respectively), separate rank lists will be prepared for admission to B.E./B. Tech. and B. Arch/ B. Planning (in institutions other than IITs).

The CBSE Joint Entrance Examination (Main) All India Ranking is calculated as per the common merit list based on normalization which follows the formula.

C = 0.6 A0 + 0.4 Bfinal,

where A0 is the marks scored in JEE Main, Bfinal = 0.5 (B1 + B2).

B1 is candidate’s JEE Main aggregate marks corresponding to his / her percentile (P) at the All India level, and B2 is JEE Main aggregate marks corresponding to percentile (P) among the set of aggregate scores obtained in the JEE Main by the students of that board.

Many states/institutes use JEE Main 2016 Rank List (Ranks) to fill seats through their own seat allocation process.
