Staff Selection Commission Skill Test

I am planning to join SSC (Staff Selection Commission) and came to know about the various skill test taken by SSC. Will you tell em for what purpose this skill test takes place and also provide me different types of skill tes taken by the SSC?

The Staff Selection Commission is conducts a skill test after the candidate has qualified Tier I, II and III of the recruitment process under the SSC CGL exam.

This test is conducted for three out of the thirty posts for which candidates are recruited by the SSC.

The Skill Test has two categories:
Data Entry Speeds Test (DEST)
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

These tests are of qualifying nature.


Important dates:

Closing Date:18.12.2017
Date of Computer Based Examination (Tier-I): 04.03.2018 to 26.03.2018
Date of Tier-II Examination (Descriptive Paper): 08.07.2018

Test syllabus: The CPT comprises of three modules:

Word processing (MS Word)
Spread Sheet (MS Excel)
Generation of Slides (MS PowerPoint)

Salary and other Remuneration
Pay of Posts
For Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 (pre-revised)

For Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)

For Data Entry Operator(DEO): Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised) and Data Entry Operator, Grade A: Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised).

Age Limit:
Age Limit: 18-27 years

Educational Qualification:
Candidates Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
