Sir would you tell me in which Exam should I participate National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) both conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC). Please provide me syllabus and last year paper for both the exam so I will get idea about their difficulty level.

The UGC is conducting NET SLET exam for Lectureship. On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducts National Eligibility Test for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian universities and colleges.

CBSE will conduct NET in 83 subjects at 89 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.

Eligibility for lectureship:

NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/Institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

For SET Candidates:
Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship are exempted from appearing in NET and are eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India.

Age:
Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

Examination Fee:-

General - Rs.600/-
Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) Rs.300/-
SC/ST/PwD - Rs.150/-

CBSE NET July 2018 Date - 08th July 2018 (Sunday)
Paper I - 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Paper II - 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
