Indian Engineering Services abbreviated as IES are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India IES remain the most sought-after careers for the engineering graduates in India. Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination i. Civil Engineering ii. Mechanical Engineering iii. Electrical Engineering iv. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering Eligibility for IES 2017 Exam:- Age:- Aspirants aged between 21 and 30 years. Educational Qualification:- - B.E./B.Tech or passed sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or - Obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from such foreign university/college/institution recognized by the Government of India from time to time. -Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or -Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or -Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London IES Exam pattern Total marks: 1,200 The examination comprises a written test followed by a personal interview. Written test Total marks: 1,000 Type: Descriptive and objective Number of days the written test is spread across: Usually 3 days Engineering discipline to be chosen from the following - Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering IES 2017 Date:- Engineering Services (Preliminary / Stage I) Examination 2017 Notice Date:- 28-09-2016 Closing Date:- 26-10-2016 till 18:00 hrs IES Preliminary Exam 2017 Date:- 8th January 2017.
