I want to apply for Banaras Hindu University Research Entrance Test (RET) exam so can you tell me the eligibility, dates and the pattern of the exam?

Banaras Hindu University Research Entrance Test BHU RET is a university level entrance exam organized by Banaras Hindu University for admission in various disciplines such as Ph.D, M.Phil etc.

The BHU RET 2016 Exam will conduct on11th October 2016.

BHU RET 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

For admission to Ph.D. Programmes

Candidate should have minimum of 50 marks in any of the following-

Master‟s degree in Agriculture/Science (M.Sc (Ag.)/ M.Sc.) in the concerned discipline with B.Sc. (Ag.) 4 years degree

OR

Master‟s degree in Agriculture/ Science (M.Sc (Ag.)/ M.Sc.) in any one of the allied subjects/disciplines with B.Sc. (Ag.) 4 years degree

Or

M.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering/M.E. (Agricultural Engineering) or equivalent degree with specialization in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering/Irrigation and Drainage Engineering/Soil and Water Engineering/ Water Resources Engineering or M.Sc. (Ag.) in Soil and Water Conservation for admission in Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Conservation Engineering)

Or

M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics/M.Sc. in Statistics for Admission in Ph. D. in Agricultural Statistics.

The candidates having 10+2+3+2 system of education will also be eligible for admission in Ph.D. through RET and RET (Exempted) in the following Disciplines:

(1) Food Science & Technology;

(2) Agricultural Statistics

At least 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade point average in the qualifying examination

Master Of Philosophy (M.Phil) in:

Post graduate degree in any disciplines of Social Sciences/humanities with minimum 55% marks at qualifying examination.

There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST and PC candidates

BHU RET 2016 Exam Dates

BHU RET 2016 application form availability date: 10 September 2016

End date for submission of application form: October 1, 2016

Admit card will be available from: 6th Oct 2016

Exam Date: 11th October 2016

BHU RET examination Pattern

RET will comprise three components as listed below:-

Test A- Test to assess Logical and Analytical Capability

Test B- Test to assess Subject Knowledge

Test C – Research proposal and PI (Personal Interview)
