A. Date of Single MCQ Examination Tentatively on 3rd week.June.2017

B. Schedule for On-Line Application
(i) Start of On-Line Submission of Application Form and Fee deposit through Bank Challan 1st week.February.2017
(ii) Date of close of deposit of fee (at All stations) last week.February.2017
(iii) Date of close of On-Line submission of Applications (at All stations) 1st week.March.2017

C. Last date of receipt of duly completed hard copy of online application in the Examination Unit 1st week.March.2017

D. Last date of receipt of duly completed hard copy of online application in the Examination Unit (from remote areas) 2nd week.March.2016

E. Last Date for receipt of written request for change of Examination Centre only on merit basis 1st week.April.2017

F. Tentative date of Publication of list of candidates registered for test on CSIR, HRDG website 2nd week.May.2017

Exam Pattern
Duration of the exam is 3 Hours.
The exam is conducted for a total of 200 marks.
The Exam is of Objective type.
It contains Multiple Choice Questions.
The exam will be in three parts.
Part A is common for all the Disciplines.
Part A consists of 20 questions related to General Science, and Aspirants have to attempt 15 questions each carrying two marks.
Part B & Part C are related to the discipline chosen by the candidate.
Part B consists of Core part of the chosen subject.
Part C consists of the Advanced part of the chosen subject.
There will be a negative marking up to 25% for each wrong answer.

The UGC NET Exam will be conducted in the following Disciplines:
Chemical Sciences.
Life Sciences.
Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
Physical Sciences.
Mathematical Sciences.
