Rajiv Gandhi University (earlier Arunachal University) is the head establishment for advanced education in the province of Arunachal Pradesh and has finished a quarter century of its existance. Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, established the framework stone of the college on fourth February 1984 at Rono Hills, where the present grounds is found. As far back as its beginning, the college has been attempting to accomplish greatness and satisfy the goals as imagined in the University Act.

The Faculty individuals have been effectively occupied with examine exercises with monetary help from UGC and other financing offices. Since beginning, various recommendations on examine ventures have been authorized by different subsidizing organizations to the University.
