Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) was established in 2005 and is a deemed-to-be-university declared under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Government of India vide its Notification No. F.9-3/2002-U.3 dated 18-03-2005.

It is an inspiring centre of learning, offering academic programmes up to Doctoral level in the fields of health sciences including Medicine, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and in other areas including Engineering, Law and Management Science through 7 constituent colleges.

It has signed strategic MOUs on academic excellence and educational development with leading global institutions across the world including USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Far East, Asia and Australia.

It has also achieved Guinness World Records for conducting dental health check for 101,309 persons in a single day on 27th November 2014, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for 28,015 people in 24 hours on 7th April 2016, and for conducting CPR Relay involving 2619 people on 7th April 2016 respectively.
