Well in India, a Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN) is a 10 digit alphanumeric number issued to persons who are required to deduct or collect tax on payments made by them under the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961.

Yes you can provide the TAN number as an identity proof for the savings account

You can visit the nearest Bank Of India branch to open the savings account

To get the address for the nearest branch of the Bank of India you can follow the below process

Hi I want to open a savings account in the Bank Of India so can you please tell me that can I provide the TAN number for the same as an identity proof so I can have an idea???
