It has been recognized by UGC (2f - 11.09.1955) as a University with Potential for Excellence. It is also recognized by: All India Council for Technical Education Council of Architecture National Council for Teacher Education Indira Gandhi National Open University It has recently been ranked at 26th in India by The Week Magazine in 2016. It was ranked at 23rd by Career India in 2015. It was ranked as the 11th best Engineering College of India in the Edu-Rand Rankings of 2015. The survey was done jointly by Edu, an Indian company, and Rand Corporation, a non-profit American think tank. It has also been ranked 80 among the BRICS nations by TIMES Higher Education Rankings which is also 7th in India.
