Eligibility
1) Nationality: A candidate must be either :
i. a Citizen of India, or
ii. a subject of Nepal, or
iii. a subject of Bhutan, or
iv. a Tibetan refugee

2) Age: Candidate age must be between minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years

3) Education
a) For Geologists Gr ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Masters Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology from a university =

b) For Geophysicists Gr ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: M.Sc in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc (Tech) (Applied Geophysics) from a University

c) For Chemists Gr ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistryor Analytical Chemistry from a University

d) For Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist-B) Group ‘A’ in Central Ground Water Board: Masters Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or marine Geology from a from a university

Application fees
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.200/- (rupees two hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card

Exam pattern
There are four papers in each category. General English is common for all categories. The examination in all the subjects is of conventional type.

3. Geology Paper II 3 Hours 200
4. Hydrogeology 3 Hours 200

Interview for personality test of such candidates as may be called by the Commission, carry a maximum of 200 marks.
