The exam is conducted by Anna University for the MBA admission to the participating management institutes of the state. TANCET is a paper pencil based test containing objective type multiple choice questions. Around 2,500 candidates take the MBA entrance Eligibility Crtieria Candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. For the reserved category candidates, the percentage is 45. The qualifying degrees are mentioned below: (a) 10+2+3 years pattern Or (b) 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern Or (c) B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm. Or (d) 10+2+AMIE Or 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State board of Technical Education) + AMIE Candidates must be native residents of Tamil Nadu state. Examination Pattern Mode of exam offline Number of sections Five Time duration 2 hours Number of questions 100 Maximum marks 100 Negative marks 1/3 Type of questions Objective type multiple choice questions Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode Type of questions: All questions in TANCET MBA question paper will be objective type. There will be four options and candidates have to choose one. There will be 100 questions. Number of Sections: The test comprises questions from five sections - Business Situations, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Sufficiency and English Language.
