The Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience) is a three year degree located on the Gippsland campus. The degree is suited for those with a love for animals and desire to pursue a career in animal science.

3 years full-time

Degree Structure

Core units (108 credit points) + Elective units (36 credit points) = 144 credit points

The program can be enrolled via both on cam pus and off-campus as well.

Gippsland and Off-Campus Mode (Allows students to study online when and where they want.)

The arrangement of the degree consists of both core units and elective units. Student study a variety of core units across quite a few scientific disciplines with precise focus on veterinary bioscience. Such core units include Cell Biology, Chemistry, Principles of Physiology, Animal Behaviour and Animal Management and Disease. Students must also complete either a research project or practical placement in their third year to graduate from the course.

The Gippsland campus setting allows students to connect in fieldwork and case studies at farms, animal health practices and natural habitats situated near the campus.

Candidate may also select the off-campus mode of study which provides them to study where and when they would like through online correspondence. This provides students with increased flexibility when studying their degree, allowing them to adhere to work and family commitments.

Graduates are eligible to seek employment in several animal science areas. This degree may also provide students with a pathway to veterinary medicine.
