The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI Society) was established in 1984 as a not-for-profit educational society in Andhra Pradesh, India. It refers to the universities sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and is established in the state of Uttarakhand, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Jharkhand under respective State legislations. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognized the above seven ICFAI universities established under State legislations in terms of Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. Consequently, these can confer degrees at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels. ICFAI University, Tripura The ICFAI University, Tripura was established in 2004 through an Act of State Legislature (Tripura Act 8 of 2004). It has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is included in the list of universities maintained by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, vide their letter No. F.9-7/2006 (CPP-I) dated October 30, 2006. The Distance Education Council (DEC) has approved the programs of the ICFAI University, Tripura. Campus Its campus based at Agartala is a lush green campus spread over 32 acres at Kamalghat Sadar, Tripura. It has over 6 lakhs sq. ft. of built-up area with academic blocks, workshops, laboratories, faculty rooms, auditorium, seminar halls, computer labs with latest computing facility, well equipped library, canteen, sports and recreation facilities. The campus also provides latest teaching aids and is Wi-Fi enabled. It is being widely recognized as an institution devoted to quality research and teaching. The University gives utmost importance to Industry-University interface. ICFAI University, Sikkim The ICFAI University, Sikkim was established under Section 4 (2) of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Sikkim Act 2004 (Act 9 of 2004) passed by Legislative Assembly of Sikkim. It has been notified under Notification No.9/LD/2004 Dated, 15-10-2004. It is empowered by UGC for award of degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act 1956. The University is a member of the Federation of Universities, India. Campus Infrastructure It currently operates in its own new premises during the current academic year at Sichey. The campus has various facilities such as classrooms, faculty rooms, meeting rooms, lecture halls, cafeteria, library, computer centre, administrative block and laboratories. |
