| shikha | Re: IIT Delhi Continuing Education Continuing Education Programme (CEP) at Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi was established for manpower training and knowledge up-gradation requirements of industrial and other organizations. IIT Delhi has also started its distance education programme for imparting some of the CEP programmes to remote locations using technology. CEP offers a range of short term courses with the following objectives: To train the officers of government organizations To disseminate new knowledge on subjects of topical interest To provide refreshers courses for engineers in the industry, and To provide opportunities to learn advanced topics in different areas These courses are generally sponsored by government, public and private organizations. The main objective of this programme is to help in inducing and inculcating research culture among the faculty of engineering and science institutes outside IIT system. Types of Programmes: OPEN Programmes (Short & Long Term)- Courses on topics of interest to the industry and research are conducted, inviting participation from industries and other organisations. Typically, such open programmes would be of 2 - 5 days duration and would be intensive in nature. IN-HOUSE Programmes (Short & Long Term)- Courses are run exclusively for a specific company or organization. The course proposals may be made by specific industries and after initial interaction, the courses would be tailor-made and conducted to their requirement. In addition, there are web based courses run in a distance mode in collaboration with industrial partners for executive development programme by the department of management studies.
