The Department Of Electrical Communication Engineering of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore is recognized by UGC as a Centre for Advanced Studies.

The Department offers M.Tech (Communication & Networks) course of duration 2 years.

M.Tech (Communication & Networks)

The Master of Technology programmes are two-year course-based programmes. Students take about 12 courses from within and outside the department, according to the programme requirements.

The courses offered are of high standard, many include advanced topics and topics based on recent research.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 64 credits for M.Tech (Communication & Networks) based on the following structure.

Core Courses: 12 credits (All courses are compulsory.)

E2 223 3:0 Communication Protocols
E2 241 3:0 Wireless Networks
E2 242 3:0 CDMA & Multiuser Detection
E7 221 2:1 Fibre-Optic Communication
E7 231 3:0 Fibre-Optic Networks
E8 242 3:1 Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits and Systems
E9 201 3:0 Digital Signal Processing
E9 211 3:0 Adaptive Signal Processing
E9 221 3:0 Digital Signal Compression
E9 271 3:0 Space-Time Signal Processing and Coding

Project: 28 credits

Electives: The balance of credits to make up the minimum of 64 credits.
