Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur conducts Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Tests (APLAWCET) on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad for admission into LL.B 3/5 Year Law Courses in the Universities in Andhra Pradesh and their affiliated colleges.


AP LAWCET Eligibility:-

1. One should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non- local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date.

2. One other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.

3. One seeking admission:-

i. For LLB 3 Year Course: One should have passed Graduate Degree Exam of minimum 3 years duration(10+2+3 pattern)of a recognized University with minimum 45% marks of aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ST categories) in the qualifying exam. If one secured less than 45% in graduation, one should have passed any additional graduation or Post Graduation with 45% marks.

ii. For LL.B 5 year course: One should have passed two year Intermediate Exam (10+2 pattern) with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST categories) in the qualifying exam or any other exam recognized as equivalent to Intermediate by the University, Board of Intermediate A. P. and Bar Council of India.

Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.

Qualifying marks in AP LAWCET-2016 is 35% (i.e. 42 Marks out of 120 marks) and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates.

Paper Pattern

FOR LL.B 3.YDC/5YDC Pattern:-


The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.

Part A - Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General knowledge and Mental Ability

Part B - Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs

Part C - Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law.

For 5 years Law course, the standard expected is intermediate level and for 3 year law course, the standard expected is the degree level.

The questions in Pact C, Aptitude for study of law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the law and Constitution on India on the Part of the student is assumed.

The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.
