ITI Pusa was initially started in 1947 with trades like Plumber, Hand weaving of fancy & furnishing fabric, Manufacturing of Footwear, Printing machine Operator, Book Binding, Manufacturing of suitcases and other leather goods, Cutting & Tailoring, Bleaching Dying & Calico Printing. During 1950-51 ITI was operated from Karol Bagh and Lower Bela Road. In 1952 it was shifted to its own Pusa campus with all above mentioned trades besides Hand compositor and proof reading to meet the rising demand of skilled labour, due to rapid industrialization of country after independence.
