The details of the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Program offered by Manipal College of Dental Sciences or Manipal University, Mangalore are as follows:

The MDS is a 3-Year Program offered in the following Steams:

• Oral Medicine & Radiology
• Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
• Public Health Dentistry
• Periodontology
• Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
• Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge
• Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
• Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics
• Oral Pathology & Microbiology.

Eligibility

Citizenship:
Indian nationals can apply under the General Category.
Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI Category.

Qualification:
Pass in BDS degree or equivalent degree recognized by Dental Council of India.

Duration:
MDS - 3 years.

Admissions
General/Foreign/NRI Category:

Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET).

NRI applicants should enclose the photocopy of Notary Affidavit by the sponsoring relative from the country of residence.

One can apply either under General or Foreign/NRI Category.
One submitting application under both General and Foreign/NRI categories is considered only under the General Category.
Change of category at a later stage is not entertained under any circumstances.

Note for Foreign/NRI Category:

Foreign nationals or candidates holding foreign degrees must write to the Dental Council of India to obtain a temporary registration for the duration of the post-graduate training.
One must be registered as Dental Practitioners in the country from which has obtained their basic dental qualification.
Also, the degrees must be recognized by the corresponding Dental Council or by any other equivalent authority.
