Re: Difference Between PGDM And MBA Full Time

MBA is the abbreviation for Master in Business Administration. It is a three years degree program that trains candidates in core fields of business such as Sales, Marketing, Business Administration and Human Resource Management. PGDM is the abbreviation for post graduate diploma in management. As it is evident from the name, only candidates who have completed their graduation may apply for PGDM courses.
Candidates can choose from a variety of PGDM courses such as PGDM in marketing, PGDM in international business, PGDM in retail management among others. Top colleges like the ITM University offer both MBA and PGDM courses.

Re: difference between pgdm and MBA full time

Hello dear, there is small difference between PGDM and MBA Full Time. Both are management programs but one is giving you diploma degree and other is giving you master degree.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management or Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) are both management courses at Masters level. Both the courses have a commercial orientation and its difficult to differentiate between the two.

MBA and PGDM are both business orientated courses. The main aim of the courses is to equip a person who wants to move up in the hierarchy and enter in to the management field.

While both the courses have same outcomes in terms of employment prospective, there are some subtle differences.

At the end of PGP and PGDM course, candidates are offered a Diploma. However, at the end of an MBA programmes, candidates receive a degree.

In most cases, MBA course curriculum is designed by the university. The core syllabus will be pretty much same in two MBA colleges under the same university.

PGPM or PGDM courses are determined by the individual institute. This gives certain flexibility to the course curriculum. Syllabus undergoes a change according to industrial requirements every year.

Fees are high in case of PGDM as compared to MBA. MBA institutes charge less fees as it is almost similar to university standard.

Difference between PGDM and MBA:

MBA/MMS is offered by Universities or Colleges that are affiliated to Universities or Central Body directly under the Indian Govt while PGDM/PGP is offered by individual colleges and IIM's.

A fee is high in case of PGDM/PGP as compared to MBA.

PGDM is much more flexible in terms of syllabus as syllabus is not bounded by a particular university.

Ideally PGDM program is residential while MBA is not.
