Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. JAM exam is a national level examination conducted for admission in MSc, PhD and Integrated PhD at well-known IITs such as Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Bhubaneswar, (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Indore (IITI), Kanpur (IITK), Madras (IITM), Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR))Kharagpur (IITKgp).

JAM Exam Eligibility Criteria-

Bachelor’s degree In science field

Candidates who are graduate via distance studies, they can also apply for this examination.

Candidates who belong to General or OBC category they must have gone graduation with at least 55% of marks however candidates who belong to reserved category, they need to be passed via 50% of marks.

For M.Sc. –
Bachelor’s degree (Geology) and any two subjects among Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biological Science Physics. Also candidate must have passed 12th with Math as mandatory subject.

M.Sc. in IITB –
Graduation with both Mathematics and Physics for two years and at least one out of these two for three years.

M.Sc. Biotechnology in IITB and IITR –
Graduation degree in any of these (Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Engineering and Medicine) branch

M.Sc. Chemistry in IITG, IITK, IITB, IITD, IITM and IITR) –Graduate degree with chemistry and also candidate must have passed 12th with mathematics.

M.Sc. Mathematics in IITB, IITD, IITK and IITM –
Graduation with Math as a subject for minimum two years or four semesters.

M.Sc. Physics in IITB, IITD, IITG, IITK, IITM and IITR) or Joint M.Sc. /Ph.D. (Physics) in IITK –
Graduation with Physics for minimum two years/ four semesters and also must have done graduation with math for at least one year or two semesters.

Joint M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Geophysics at IITK –
Graduation with any two subjects from Physics, Mathematics and Geology minimum 3 years and 6 semesters.

M.Sc or Ph.D. (Dual Degree) in IITB –
Graduate in any one of these subjects Physics, Chemistry and Math for minimum two years and four semesters.

I want to apply for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) exam so can you please tell me the eligibility criteria to apply for exam?
