| shikha | Re: One Sitting Degree Hyderabad Osmania University The LL.B. 3-Year Degree Course in Osmania University in Hyderabad is offered through semester system to the students admitted (with effect from academic year 2001-02) as prescribed by the Bar Council of India. All the Rules and Regulations, hereinafter, specified shall be read as a whole for the purpose of interpretation. Eligibility One who has obtained degree of post graduate degree by single sitting upto 1998-1999 is treated as eligible for admission into Law courses according to Bar Council of India. One should have passed any degree of a recognized University with 40% of aggregate marks, or any other exam with 40% of aggregate marks, recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned imparting Law. There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the qualifying exam in favour of candidates belonging to SC/ST. One who has 40% or more in B.Ed. or in the post graduate degree is eligible to seek admission into Law Course even if secures less than 40% at Degree level. Admissions Admissions are made by Convener LAWCET as per merit at the LAWCET conducted by APSCHE. Duration The Duration of the course is three academic years. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. The two semesters in the first academic year are referred to as Semester I and Semester II, the two semesters in the second academic year are referred to as Semester III and Semester IV and the two semesters in III year are referred to as Semester V and Semester VI. Each semester shall comprise of 16 weeks of instruction. Size of the Section As prescribed by the Bar Council of India vide the Bar Council of India Rules as adopted and approved by the BCI at its meeting held on 14/09/2008 vide Resolution No. 110/2008, size of each section of LL.B. shall not be more than 60 students. Therefore the intake in Ist Year of LL.B. Course offered at the University College of Law is 60 w.e.f. the academic year 2009-10.
