Re: ISRO Summer Internship

The Policy for carrying out Dissertation / Summer training by external students as offered by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is as follows:

IIRS will facilitate postgraduate students pursuing M.Sc. / M.Sc. (Tech.) / M.E. / M.Tech./ M.Phil. / MCA, etc. for carrying out research project, which could be submitted as a thesis to the concerned university/institute/college for the award of the postgraduate degree.

The minimum duration of research project at IIRS is 3 months and the maximum duration is 1 year.

The application from undergraduate students for summer training of 6 to 8 weeks period is entertained as a special case only for one having blood relation with the IIRS employee and candidate(s) from reputed institutes / centre’s of excellence such as IITs, BITS-Pilani, IISc, IIST, NITs, etc. Minimum duration of summer training is 3 months

The duration of summer training is 6 to 8 weeks during May-June although longer duration candidates are preferred.

The GD, IIRS, in consultation with the faculty of IIRS identifies a suitable faculty at IIRS as project supervisor.

The identified IIRS faculty is the sole guide/supervisor for the topic allotted to the students.

The topic allotted to the student is within overall framework of research and operational programmes of IIRS.
The selection of candidates by IIRS is final and no further enquiries in this regard is entertained by IIRS.
