As per your concern I will tell you timings and IAS exam details so that you check it and remember easily.

The exam held in two session

Timings: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (forenoon session)

Timings 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (afternoon session)

Exam pattern
Preliminary Exam:

It will be comprised of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.

Paper – I is General Studies and Paper-II is Civil Services Aptitude Test.

Both papers will be objective in nature and will be set in both Hindi and English.

Main Examination:

It will include a total of nine papers; all of them will be conventional essay type questions.

Paper I and Paper II of the Main Exam are qualifying in nature while the remaining seven papers will be based on the optional subjects that will be chosen by the candidate.

The maximum marks for the two qualifying papers will be 300 each and that for the remaining seven papers will be 250 marks.

Eligibility
The applicant must be a citizen of India for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. For all other services, candidates can be the citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a Person of Indian Origin (PIO).

Age Limit: The age of the applicant must lie in the range of minimum 21 to maximum 32 years.

The applicant should hold a degree or possess an equivalent qualification obtained from a recognized University to be eligible to apply and take the exam.

Candidates awaiting their results for the qualifying exam are also eligible to be admitted to the Preliminary examination.

But, they will have to submit the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with their applications for the main examination once shortlisted for the same.
