The General Education Development (GED) preparation courses are aimed at helping adults complete the necessary course material to achieve a high school diploma equivalency. Eligibility The program is open to adults 19 years of age and beyond who have successfully completed a minimum of a grade nine education. Adults, 18 years of age and older who have not successfully completed a minimum of grade nine may enroll in the community adult learning centre for academic upgrading programs. Description GED preparation through community adult learning centres or workplaces Community adult learning centres offer onsite GED preparation courses as well as academic upgrading or support with personal learning objectives. Arrangements can also be made for the courses to be available within a workplace. Those who are interested in the program should contact the regional adult learning consultant in their area. GED preparation online GED courses both in person and online are offered through Community Adult Learning Centres where learners may enroll and study at their own pace. The online component offers learners the convenience and mobility of working online via an online preparatory program that is delivered via Internet Explorer Version 7 or above with an Adult Learning Program teacher providing support/instruction and learning materials via email, Skype, chat, telephone, and, as required, face-to-face contact.
