The city is connected with the rest of India by rail and road links. There is a large network of bus services from various towns and cities of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. The government has notified a special bus stop in front of the university campus to pick up and drop the students and other commuters.
