The Indian Institutes of Information Technology, commonly called the IIITs, are institutes of higher education in India. There are 23 IIITs across the country. The first five to set up IIIT Gwalior, IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Jabalpur, IIIT Kancheepuram and IIIT Kulnoor are established, funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
