UNIT 2 PHYSICAL LAYER 9 Hrs. Physical Layer: Types of transmission media: Guided Media, Unguided Media, Transmission Impairments, Performance Wavelength, Shannon Capacity, Media Comparison. Data Link Layer: Design Issues, Error Detection and Correction - Types of Errors, Detection, Parity Check, Vertical Redundancy Check, Longitudinal Redundancy Check, Cyclic Redundancy Check, Checksum, Error Correction.
