| Arvind Kumar | Re: Life History of Mahatma Gandhi Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India. He was one of the most respected political leaders of 1900’s. He helped to free the Indian people from British rule through his famous weapon “Nonviolent”. And he honored by the Father of Nation. The meaning of Mahatma means” Great Soul”. At the age of 13 Gandhi JI married Kasturba, a girl the same age. There parents arranged the marriage. He had four children. Gandhi JI was the well renowned lawyer of India. He studied law in London and returned to India in 1891. In 1893 he go back to South Africa to do legal work for one-year contract. On 30 January 1948, Gandhi was shot when he was walking to a platform from which he was to address a prayer meeting. He was shot by the Nathuram Godse and his co-partner on 30th Jan.
