Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

Eligibility:

Nationality:
You must either be an Indian Citizen or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
Or
A Tibetan refugee who made India is his/her permanent base before January 1st, 1962.
Or
A person or candidate of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Vietnam, Ethiopia etc

Age-limits
Age must be in between 21-30 years
The upper age limit is 30 but is relaxed in case of Government servants and has been increased to 35 years

Educational Qualifications
Must hold degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only.

Paper I (Objective type)
General Ability Test
(Part A: General English)
(Part B: General Studies)

Papers II & III (Objective type)
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering

Papers IV & V(Conventional Type)
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering
