Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducts IAS Exam to recruit the eligible candidate for this post

Eligibility--

Nationality
You should be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification
- You must be a graduate from a recognized university or a deemed university.

Age Limit
-You must be atleast 21 years of age and less than 31 years of age
-The upper age limit is relaxed upto a maximum of :

SC / ST 5
OBC 3
Defense Services personnel 3
Domiciled in J&K during the period 01/01/1980 - 31/12/1989 5

IAS Exam Pattern

Preliminary Examination --


Paper I : General Studies (GS) - 200 marks - 2 hours
Subject Area
Current events of national & international importance
History of India and Indian National Movement
Indian and World Geography - Phsical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Right Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmentel Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialisation
General Science
Negative Marking: 1/3rd of marks allotted for every question

Paper II : Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) - 200 marks - 2 hours

Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability
Decision-making & Problem-solving
General Mental Ability
Basic Numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (CLass X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. - Class X Level)
English Language Comprehension Skills (Class X Level)

Mains Exam—

Paper - I Language -300 Marks
Paper – II English -300 Marks
Paper – III Essay - 200 Marks

Paper-IV
General Studies-I 300 Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture,
History and Geography of the World and Society)

Paper-V
General Studies -II: 300 Marks
(Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)

Paper-VI
General Studies -III 300 Marks
(Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)

Paper-VII
General Studies -IV 300 Marks
(Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
Marks carried by General Studies was 4X 250=1000

Paper-VIII
Optional Subject - Paper 1 -300 Marks

Paper-IX
Optional Subject - Paper II -300 Marks

Interview/Personality Test - 300 marks
