shikha | Re: Number Of Attempts For UPSC The Union Public Service Commission is Conducts various exams for recruitment across the year for Defence National Defence Academy and Naval Academy - NDA/NA, Combined Defence Services (CDS), Civil Services IAS, IPS, IFS , Medical - Engineering Services, Geologist Exam, SCRA and other Government establishments. A maximum of 6 attempts is official to every candidate and 9 to those belonging to Other Backward Classes. There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the case of SC/ST candidates. Number of attempts for IAS exam: General Category : 6 attempts till 32 years of age. OBC : 9 attempts till 35 years of age. SC/ST : unlimited attempts till 37 years of age.
