Southern Methodist University (SMU) is a private research university in Dallas, University Park, and Highland Park, Texas and was founded in 1911.

The counseling program provides the elements necessary for certification, licensure, and actual counseling practice.

The SMU Program in Counseling is pleased to announce plans to seek accreditation through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs, CACREP, for all three tracks.

The Curriculum
