Can you tell me in detail about the age eligibility and other requirements to apply for Civil Judge [Junior Division] Post for Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission [UPPSC]?

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UP PSC) is a body created by the Constitution of India to select applicants for civil service jobs in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation.

UP PCSJ Eligibility Criteria


One must be an Indian citizen.

One must have the domicile of Utter Pradesh to get the reservation and the relaxation

One must have completed a Bachelor of Law degree from a University established by Law in Uttar Pradesh or any other recognized University of India

Or

One must be an Advocate registered under the provisions of the Advocate Act 1961 or a Barrister of Northern Ireland or England or a Member Faculty of Advocates in Scotland and is permitted to practice in the Court or Courts subordinate thereto;

One should possess a complete knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari Script.

The age of the candidates must be between 22 years and 35 years (both included).

One of the reserved category will get the reservation and relaxation in the upper age if have permanent domicile of Uttar Pradesh.

The age relaxation for the SC and ST category will be of 5 years.

The age relaxation for the candidates of the OBC category will be 3 years.


UP PCS J Plan of Examination

Preliminary Examination (Objective & Multiple Choice Type)


There will be two papers having MCQs. Paper 1 will be for 150 marks and have MCQs on General Knowledge. Time duration will be 2 hours.
Paper 2 will be for 300 marks and have MCQs on the topics of Law such as Indian Constitution, Jurisprudence, Civil Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Current International Affairs etc. Time duration will be 2 hours.

Main Examination (Written Conventional Type)

There will be five papers
Paper 1 General Knowledge (Maximum marks 200)
Paper 2 Language This paper will be of 200 marks. Paper 3 Law I (Substantive Law), this paper will be of 200 marks.
Paper 4 Law II (Procedure & Evidence), this paper will be of 200 marks.
Paper 5 Law III (Penal, Revenue & Local News), this paper will be of 200 marks.

Viva-voce (Personality Test)
It will be of 100 marks.
Personality test will be conducted to test candidates character ability, personality and physique.
