WCU is home to one of the most extensive climbing programs in the East, and we have the tallest collegiate wall in North Carolina.

The climbing wall typically opens on weekdays at 4 pm, with additional hours for clinics, family climbs, and kids climbs also available.

The Campus Recreation Center is a stand-alone facility located in the heart of campus between the University Center and Reid Gym and includes the following:

More than 9,800 square feet of fitness space featuring cardiovascular and weight equipment
Two multi-purpose courts
A three-lane indoor jogging/walking track; each lap = 1/8 of a mile
Two group exercise/multipurpose studios
48-foot climbing wall with belaying and bouldering
Meeting room and conference room
Full locker room facilities
Two assessment rooms
Administrative offices
