TNEA Sports Quota Eligibility

I want to know the Eligibility criteria of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) for Sports Quota candidates so can you tell me?

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University every year for admission to undergraduate level engineering courses available at various engineering colleges of the state.

TNEA Sports Quota

The purpose of the sports quota is to recognize and give weight age to the sports eminence of the candidates and hence marks for sports achievements alone will be considered in ranking the candidates.

Seats available for Sports Quota

The Govt. of TamilNadu increased the Sports quota seats in TamilNadu Engineering Admissions.

Now the total number of seats in sports quota increased to 500. 12 seats will be in Anna University and the remaining 488 seats will be in Anna University of Technologies, Govt., Govt. Aided and Private engineering colleges.

Application Procedure for Sports Quota

To apply for Sports quota, Students should attach the special reservation form for Sports with TNEA application form and a Demand draft for Rs. 100/- and copies of the relevant certificates in person to the Secretary TNEA, Chennai.

The highest achievement of the candidate in only one annual tournament in the sports disciplines in a year will be considered for awarding marks.

Selection of the candidate will be based on the marks obtained by the candidate.

Participation / achievements for the past 5 years, in sports / games will be taken into account. National / State Level Championships / Tournaments conducted by organizations recognized by Indian Olympic Association / Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu (SDAT) / Tamilnadu Olympic Association (TNOA) alone will be considered for award of marks.
