UNIT 2 BASICS OF MEDICAL IMAGE SOURCES 9 Hrs. Medical images obtained with ionizing radiation: Medical imaging modalities, Images from x-rays, Images from γ-rays, Dose and risk. Medical images obtained with non-ionizing radiation: Ultrasound imaging, Magnetic resonance imaging, Picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). UNIT 3 MEDICAL IMAGE ANALYSIS AND CLASSIFICATION 9 Hrs. Image segmentation- pixel based, edge based, region based segmentation.
